Since January 1, 2018, Professor Susanne Iwarsson, Coordinator of CASE, acceds as editor at the European Journal of Ageing (EJA). Her field will be health sciences and public health.

- It is very honorable to have been asked for this assignment, although it will require quite some work from my side, Susanne Iwarsson says.

On November 27, the editorial board held a meeting in Lund for recognition and update. Susanne Iwarsson is not the only new editor at EJA, which is now undergoing a generational change.

Professor Matthias Kliegel at the University of Geneva in Switzerland is the new editor in the field of behavioral science. Marja Aartens, research professor at the Norwegian Welfare Research Institute NOVA in Oslo, is in charge of the field of social sciences.

Founder in place
Also in place was Professor Em. Dorly Deeg at VU University Medical Center, The Netherlands. She founded EJA together with Professor Em. Hans-Werner Wahl at Heidelberg University, Germany.

- We had a rewarding meeting and one thing that was emphasized was that we should continue to maintain and strengthen the EJA's multi- and interdisciplinary profile. It is a voice and perspective that is needed in aging research, not only in Europe but also internationally, Susanne Iwarsson says.
