How will you participate at NKG?

I will be doing a poster presentation about one of the sub-studies in my PhD project. The sub-study focuses on user experiences of welfare technology in a homecare context.

Share you best tips how you prepare for a big conference like this!

One tip for preparing a conference poster is to reach out to the library staff. At least at Lund University, the library staff provided me with valuable assistance in making my poster. Otherwise, my main preparation tactic is practicing my three minutes poster presentation as much as possible.

What are you most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to hearing about all the other interesting research being done within the field of gerontology.

How will you participate at NKG?

– I will give an oral presentation, that deals with how the macro economy and economic crises affect moving and house sales in Sweden.

That is to prepare my own presentation as best I can. Another tip is to check the conference program well in advance and choose which presentations and lecturers I want to see. As there are many seminars taking place at the same time, you have to be a little selective in what you attend.

What are you most looking forward to?

– Going to interesting presentations and meeting senior researchers and other PhD students who are in the same phase of their PhD studies as me.

How will you participate at NKG?

I will present a poster at NKG. My study is about collaborative learning using virtual communities of practice among informal and formal caregivers to people with dementia diseases.

NKG is my first conference. My best tips to prepare is to listen to each other’s presentations and make suggestions how to improve your presentation. We had rehearsal of our presentations in our research group - that helped a lot.

What are you most looking forward to?

– I look forward to hearing about new research in the field, meeting other PhD students and other participants from different universities and exchanging ideas.
