Description: Mikiko Terashima will give a presentation about her research and the PEACH Research Unit. With PEACH as a platform, her work attempts to integrate lived experience and knowledge of persons with disability in planning. Her projects employing spatial analytics on health inequalities with quantitative and qualitative geographic information systems methods to inform decision makers on methodologies related to the question of spatial/geographical relations, considering land use, population characteristics, and availability of other social infrastructures.
Oskar Jonsson will present the two main objectives of his visiting-researcher project in Canada. Firstly, conduct knowledge and experience exchange activities related to research and practice pertaining to universal design of housing and neighborhoods that are accessible and inclusive for as many as possible, regardless of age, ability, or situation. Secondly, to build on the outcomes of the knowledge and experience exchange activities to develop grant proposals that address key research questions identified and to establish contacts with future collaborators.
